Enersize files two patent applications of strategic importance

Nasdaq First North-listed Enersize announces that it today has filed two patent applications of strategic importance. The patent applications can secure Enersize position as a global champion of industrial compressed air energy optimization.

A common problem in leakage management is that it can be a game of numbers, meaning that it is very hard for the industry to confirm the results of repairing leakages. This is especially true for industry running production 24/7, where normal means of estimating leakage do not work. The problem is that leakage normally can only be measured if the compressed air system is 1) monitored with high temporal resolution while it is running when 2) the factory is not producing anything. This combination very seldom occurs.

“The market for energy optimization of compressed air is very immature, there are many opportunities and Enersize is showing strength applying for two patents so recently after expanding its research and development organization”, says Anders Sjögren, CEO of Enersize. “Enersize Compressed Air Services can through the innovation monitore the leakage levels 24/7, ensuring that leakage survey and repair is performed only when needed”.

“The patent applications together can come to form a business protection that means that Enersize can remain unique for many years to come, during the large transformation the industry needs to go through to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050”, Anders continues, adding “Essentially, the protection can ensure revenue streams and enable Enersize to keep competitors at bay. Enersize is a first mover, and we are with these patent applications making sure we stay in the forefront. Even if compressed air has been around as an energy medium for soon 200 years, measuring leakage 24/7 is as a ‘Holy Grail’ that many have wanted to do but not been able to.”

“Furthermore, the patent applications are tying compressed air usage to production output in a novel way, enabling the creation of standards for energy-efficient compressed air that can be compared across industry sectors, geographies, or in global organizations. Benchmarking will be a powerful tool to make sure that production operators stay on target in terms of energy efficiency, so the industry can deliver on their promises of lowering energy consumption and carbon footprint.”, says Anders.

Anders continues, “As a technician in the field performing leakage repairs, you want feedback on your performance, and this aspect is covered by the patent applications. Enersize is developing training for technicians, and with the innovations done, it will be possible to create automated feedback processes for technicians so they can compare their estimated leakages with actual numbers.”

The patent applications have been filed in Sweden as a start, giving Enersize priority for later international patent applications.

Practical tips for keeping your compressed air in shape

The fact that compressed air driven tools and machines are cost-effective and easy to maintain might also be the underlying reason why the whole compressed air system can be so neglected.

Electricians are experts on electricity. They know which cables to use in different environments. They also have to understand the dimensions of the cables to be used and which regulations to follow during an installation, related to cable channels, pipes, ducts and connectors.

Control Gap: When air compressors fight

This article discusses some unexpected discoveries that came about then compressed air system monitoring equipment was installed on some example systems.
The maintenance foreman of a local paint manufacturer had a morning ritual where he turned on his three compressors one-by-one at 6 am every morning like clockwork. He did so for as long as he could remember, since he started some 25 years ago.
