Enersize receives preliminary patent approval for a new method to measure received savings independent of production changes

Translation in English of earlier released news: Enersize Oyj (”Enersize”) has today on 2019-03-20 received a final injunction from the Swedish Patent and Registrations Office (“PRV”) which means that PRV intends to approve the Swedish patent application filed on 2018-09-03 that covers a newly developed method for measuring and quantifying energy efficiency and saving rate which is not affected by variations over time in a factory's compressed air consumption. The decision means that only a number of administrative steps remain before a final approval can be issued.

A granted patent entails an exclusive right of 20 years from the date of application, 2038-09-03. The patent application has been assigned the reference number SE-21099720 by PRV (former application number 1851039-6).

The invention means that one can measure and quantify a system's energy efficiency regardless of the amount of air a factory consumes. Since the production rate often varies in a factory both daily and over a longer period of time, this means that the factories' compressed air consumption also varies greatly. For more information on this specific patent application, use area and potential, please see the press release which was sent out in 2018-09-03 in connection with the filing of the patent application.

Anders Sjögren, CEO of Enersize, comments: “We believe this is a central patent for making compressed air savings measurable in a correct way by separating savings measures from several types of influencing factors. Through this patent, we have the possibility to prevent others from doing the same thing.”

Practical tips for keeping your compressed air in shape

The fact that compressed air driven tools and machines are cost-effective and easy to maintain might also be the underlying reason why the whole compressed air system can be so neglected.

Electricians are experts on electricity. They know which cables to use in different environments. They also have to understand the dimensions of the cables to be used and which regulations to follow during an installation, related to cable channels, pipes, ducts and connectors.

Control Gap: When air compressors fight

This article discusses some unexpected discoveries that came about then compressed air system monitoring equipment was installed on some example systems.
The maintenance foreman of a local paint manufacturer had a morning ritual where he turned on his three compressors one-by-one at 6 am every morning like clockwork. He did so for as long as he could remember, since he started some 25 years ago.
