Scania has extended and expanded its agreement with Nasdaq First North-listed Enersize Advanced Research AB. In the extended pilot agreement, Enersize helps the truck giant save money by finding energy savings in Scania's comprehensive compressed air system. The agreement is extended by twelve months and in parallel Enersize and Scania intend to start joint development projects during the autumn of 2022.
In May 2021, Scania agreed with Enersize on a continuation of the pilot project that began in 2017. In connection with this, Scania has also joined the Enersize Advisory Council, to which other major industries and international experts are also attached.
“It is an important Scania agreement that confirms the values we create. The fact that one of Sweden's largest compressed air users confirms our solution creates good conditions for continued expansion ", says Anders Sjögren, CEO of Enersize, and continues:
"We notice that interest in our solution increases as customers discover how large and unnecessary the costs of energy leakage in compressed air systems are."
The parties have now agreed on a further extension of twelve months of the pilot project, which is being implemented with the aim of expanding cooperation in the autumn of 2022 to carry out a major upgrade of the installation at Scania's facility in Södertälje. When the upgrade is complete, the parties agree to renegotiate the subscription, as the value of what Enersize delivers to Scania will increase.
The purpose of the upgrade is partly that Scania will be able to send data from the plant's OT system (OPC server) directly to Enersize cloud service Compressed Air Services, and partly that Scania will be the so-called "early adopter" in Enersize Compressed Air Services generation 2 which is developed by the Company. Through this, Scania will not only have access to an enormous amount of data for analysis but will also be able to connect directly to Compressed Air Services.
Scania has a very large, compressed air system for Sweden, with piping systems that span large parts of Södertälje. The challenges of ensuring that the air is not only available, but produced energy-efficiently are great, and Scania sees through cooperation Enersize an opportunity to increase the robustness of the compressed air system, whereby opportunities for energy efficiency can also be evaluated.
